How It Works:
Dexlansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that selectively inhibits the (H⁺, K⁺)-ATPase
enzyme on gastric parietal cells, reducing stomach acid secretion by blocking the final step in
acid production.

Drug Interactions:

Indications:
For patients aged 12 years and older:
Healing of erosive esophagitis (up to 8 weeks)
Maintenance of healing and heartburn relief (up to 6 months)
Treatment of heartburn associated with symptomatic non-erosive GERD (4 weeks)
Contraindications (When Not to Use):
Known hypersensitivity to dexlansoprazole or excipients
Use with rilpivirine-containing products
Severe hepatic impairment
Dexxoo Capsules Precautions
Precaution:
PPIs may increase the risk of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, especially in
hospitalized patients. Use the lowest effective dose and shortest treatment duration appropriate
for the condition.
Dexxoo Capsules Warnings
1. Osteoporosis-Related Fractures:
Increased risk of fractures (hip, spine, wrist) with PPI therapy. Use lowest effective dose
for shortest duration, especially in at-risk patients.
2. Serum Magnesium Monitoring:
Check magnesium levels prior to and during long-term treatment, particularly if patient is
taking digoxin, diuretics, or other medications linked to low magnesium.
3. Vitamin B12 Deficiency:
Long-term use may cause vitamin B12 malabsorption and deficiency.
