How it Works
Rosuvastatin acts primarily in the liver, the target organ for cholesterol lowering. It increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell surface, enhancing uptake and catabolism of LDL. Additionally, it inhibits hepatic synthesis of VLDL, reducing the number of both VLDL and LDL particles in circulation.

Active liver disease, including unexplained persistent elevations in liver enzymes
Any transaminase elevation >3× ULN
