It works by inhibiting fungal cytochrome P450 enzymes, impairing ergosterol synthesis,
which is a vital component of fungal cell membranes. This leads to slowed growth or death of
the fungus.

 H2 antagonists, Antacids

 Midazolam, Reboxetine, Salmeterol, Nadolol
 Saxagliptin, Repaglinide, Tolvaptan
🚫 When Not to Use:
 Known hypersensitivity to Itraconazole or any formulation component
 Use with caution or avoid in heart failure patients
 Use in pregnancy is contraindicated unless absolutely necessary

 May cause dizziness, visual or hearing disturbances

⚠️ Warnings:
1. Congestive Heart Failure (CHF):
Itraconazole has a negative inotropic effect—avoid in patients with ventricular
dysfunction or history of CHF.
2. Hypersensitivity Risk:
Limited data exist on cross-reactivity with other azoles; caution advised if allergic to
other antifungals (e.g. fluconazole, ketoconazole).
3. Pediatric Use:
