⚙️ How It Works
Silodosin is a selective alpha-1 adrenoceptor antagonist. It works by relaxing smooth
muscles in the prostate, bladder neck, and urethra, which improves urine flow and reduces
BPH symptoms.

🚫 When Not to Use
 Known hypersensitivity to silodosin or excipients
 Severe renal or hepatic impairment
 Concurrent use of strong CYP3A4 inhibitors
 Concurrent use of other alpha-blockers
⚖️ Precautions
 Silodosin may cause orthostatic hypotension and syncope.
 Patients should be advised to sit or lie down at the first signs of dizziness or weakness.

🚨 Warnings
Warning 1:
Rule out prostate cancer before starting silodosin, as BPH and carcinoma of the prostate can
present with similar symptoms and may co-exist.
Warning 2:
Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS) has been reported in patients undergoing cataract
surgery. Patients should inform their ophthalmologist if they are taking or have taken silodosin.
Warning 3:
Silodosin may reduce semen volume or lead to temporary male fertility issues, which are
reversible after stopping the medication.
