How It Works
Itraconazole is an antifungal from the triazole class. It treats yeast infections of the mouth, throat,
esophagus, and other fungal infections by slowing the growth of fungi responsible for the
infection.

Indications
Used to treat fungal or yeast infections such as:

When Not to Use (Contraindications)
 Known hypersensitivity to itraconazole or any excipients of the product
Precautions
 Caution advised when driving or operating machinery due to potential adverse reactions
like dizziness, visual disturbances, and hearing loss.
Warnings
1. Itraconazole can have a negative inotropic effect and has been associated with congestive
heart failure (CHF).
2. Limited data on cross-hypersensitivity with other azole antifungals; caution when
prescribing to patients with hypersensitivity to other azoles.
3. Not recommended for pediatric use unless benefits outweigh risks.
